Privacy First. Deskdays is built with your privacy as a priority. Your data stays on your device. We don't collect, sell, or share personal information or Apple Calendar event data.
Introduction
Welcome to Deskdays, a macOS menubar calendar app with Apple Calendar events, customizable themes, and countdowns. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our app.
The bottom line: We don't collect any personal data. Your Apple Calendar events are read locally on your Mac, and your images, countdowns, and settings are stored locally on your Mac. They never leave your device.
Information We Don't Collect
Deskdays does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
- Location data
- Analytics or usage data
- Device identifiers
- IP addresses
- Browsing history or web data
- Apple Calendar event data
- Crash reports sent to external servers
Data Stored Locally
The following data is stored only on your Mac and never transmitted anywhere:
Countdowns
- Countdown titles and dates you create
- Custom images you choose for countdown backgrounds
- Gradient and theme preferences
Calendar Customization
- Month-specific images you upload
- Theme selections (seasons, minimalist, etc.)
- Hemisphere preference (Northern/Southern)
Apple Calendar Events
- Deskdays can display events from Apple Calendar using Apple's EventKit framework
- Calendar access requires your explicit permission, which you can grant or revoke at any time in System Settings
- Calendar access is read-only and used only to display events inside Deskdays
- Event data such as titles, dates, times, and calendar names is read directly from Apple Calendar and displayed in the app
- Calendar event data is not collected, transmitted, sold, shared, or stored on external servers
- Deskdays only reads events and never creates, modifies, or deletes your calendar events
App Settings
- Week start preference (Monday/Sunday/Saturday)
- Launch at login preference
- Apple Calendar events display preference
Local Error Logs
- Crash logs are stored locally on your device for debugging purposes
- These logs are never automatically transmitted to us
- You have full control and can delete them anytime
All this data is stored in secure local storage on your Mac and is protected by macOS sandboxing.
In-App Purchases
All purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive, store, or have access to any payment information (credit cards, billing details, Apple ID, etc.). Apple's privacy policy governs all purchase-related data.

Third-Party Services
None. Deskdays does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. The app is built entirely using Apple's native frameworks with zero third-party dependencies.
Network Activity
Deskdays makes no network requests except for communication with Apple's StoreKit service to verify your premium purchase status when you make a purchase or restore purchases.
No data is sent to any server we control or operate.
Photos and Images
When you choose custom images for your calendar or countdowns:
- Images are selected from your Mac's photo library or file system
- Images are stored securely within the app's protected storage on your Mac
- Images never leave your device
- You can delete images at any time through the app
We do not access your photo library beyond the images you explicitly choose to use.
Children's Privacy
Deskdays does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. Since we don't collect any personal information, the app is safe for all ages.
Data Retention and Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- Data persists only as long as you keep the app installed
- Uninstalling Deskdays removes all app data including countdowns, images, and settings
- Trial and premium status information is managed through standard macOS security mechanisms
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. When we do:
- We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top
- Significant changes will be communicated through the app or this page
- Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance
Your Rights
Since we don't collect personal data, there's nothing to request, export, or delete from our side. You have full control over your data:
- Access: All your data is on your Mac in the app
- Export: Images and settings are in your local file system
- Delete: Uninstall the app to remove all local data
